HISTORY OF THE QUARTETTE CLUB
The Quartette Club (then called the "Quartet Club") was founded in 1891 as a German singing society. In the 1930s, there were three German singing societies in the City of New Britain; The Maennerchor, the Donau Society and the Quartette Club. They would routinely sing in competition with each other, and with other singing groups in New England and New York.
It has since evolved into a large social, charitable, and service club with members throughout Connecticut.
In order to apply for Membership to the Quartette Club, you must be 21 years of age and be sponsored by a current member of at least one year.
Today, members restrict their singing to the privacy of their showers!
